Spinal Decompression for Tucson
Non-surgical spinal decompression is a treatment for severe neck or lower back pain problems. Conditions helped by this procedure include disc herniation, stenosis, disc degeneration/arthritis, and sciatica. Most people who have suffered with these problems have tried medication, injections, surgery, physical therapy, manipulation and other approaches without lasting success.
As the name implies, spinal decompression decompresses the spine. That means that the vertebre are gently separated/stretched apart, and held that way over the course of the 15-23 minute program. This causes a negative pressure or suction effect inside the disc. The inside of the disc is drawn back toward its normal position along with fluid and nutrients which aid in the healing of the disc. As this occurs, the pressure is taken off the nerve and the patient experiences pain relief.

First, we'll have you lie down on our specially-equipped table. Then, ever so slowly, we'll stretch your spine. And then relax it. Stretch. And relax. Our patients tell us this tractioning process is quite pleasant, even relaxing. Because they don’t feel the need to "guard” their spine, each sequence helps the damaged disc receive nourishment, expel cellular waste and enjoy reduced pressure. Then, healing can begin.
